As a mom of four, I am constantly searching for recipes with the best ingredients that will nourish the bodies of my family. Like any young children, my kids love treats (and let’s be honest, adults can also have a sweet tooth!) and I try to bake something every once in a while.
The regular chocolate chip cookie recipe asks mainly for butter, sugar, flour and eggs. I like to avoid using white/brown sugar, but when I do I choose organic (no glyphosate), same as for the flour, grass-fed butter is our choice (Costco has one that is wonderful and with a great price!), and pasture raised eggs or local eggs from farm/farmers market (better quality).
Now if you like chewy, soft-baked cookies, and want to try a healthier version of this American favorite, this recipe from the Salted Plains website is great! I’ll be honest, when I saw olive oil in a cookie recipe I was kind of scared. But I can assure you the taste of these cookies will not disappoint! Only 5 main ingredients, super easy to make. Also, they are gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free!
I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
